Dogwood Petcare Center

Dr. Katie Racek-Peters provides medical assessments and surgical procedures for exotic pets - birds, reptiles, ferrets, rabbits, guinea pigs, sugar gliders and more.

Ferrets and rabbits should be examined yearly. Changes in appetite or behavior, discharge from the nose or eyes or lumps on the body indicate a potential problem that should be discussed with the veterinarian.

CLICK HERE for information about adrenal disease in ferrets.

Reptiles should have yearly exams and parasite checks. Many of the problems with these pets are nutrition related. We are happy to discuss with you how to avoid some of these problems.

Birds also often suffer from nutrition-related problems and we are happy to advise you on proper feeding. We also offer DNA sexing and  beak, wing and nail trimming.
